Telerious says:

Wow, first comment.

The punchline is true, nothing is worse then a pixie running wild.

i_like_shiny_things says:

First comment, whee! Okay, so what are grues and grells?

i_like_shiny_things says:

Okay, never mind about me making first comment.

Probably Not Trogdor The Burninator says:

Oh, I know THIS one: The grue is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the earth. Its favorite diet is either adventurers or enchanters, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its horrible fear of light. No grues have ever been seen by the light of day, and only a few have been observed in their underground lairs. Of those who have seen grues, few ever survived their fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Grues have sharp claws and fangs, and an uncontrollable tendency to slaver and gurgle. They are certainly the most evil-tempered of all creatures; to say they are touchy is a dangerous understatement. "Sour as a grue" is a common expression, even among themselves.

sjon says:

Yep, Feiht is off Chasing the S... heu ... lightning.
BTW that cave doesn't look natural with it's even floor and nice domed smooth coridors. Very scary. Of course just when it becomes scary Leaf grabs Ayne by her bow-arm making any reaction to danger impossible ...

Adam says:

A grell is a sort of floating brain with tentacles.

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mi20041223b_grell.jpg is a picture of a model of one.

Empress Catriona of the cat People says:

Can I throw glitter in the whirlwind now? Feiht chasing glitter will be funny.

Tsurwen says:

Yeah! Feiht is free! Mwahahaha...Let the mayham commence...err continue!

Beacon says:

Point of interest: The grue is not an actual creature of folklore. Grues originate from the Zork games. You never saw one, but if you wandered in the dark too long, you'd be eaten by one.

Kells says:

Well, I don't have anything particular to add, but just wanted to say good job!

eekee says:

*cackles at the talk & expressions in the last panel* Good stuff!

crazyninny says:

what if Feiht is still out in the storm? *runs to check*

crazyninny says:

I love how the shadow effect came out. it really shows how the candle if lite.

Mimir says:

Nooo! It's the return of the evil pixie cult! Ahhhhh!

Sesshi says:

oooh, i love the lighting effects - But can't elves see in the dark (like in the past chapter, when the amazoness was kidnapped)? Hmmm... i am anxious to see what will happen next. I wonder if Sir Mark and the squire will return sometime soon, and i wonder when they're going to reach Gamun... what a long journey this is turning out to be!

Probably Not Trogdor The Burninator says:

And what's Zork, if not folklore?

What I want to know is... They're hiding in a cave they haven't fully explored, and neither of them thinks of The Hobbit?

I'd assume that the elves can't see in darkness - rather, they're like cats in that they need less light to see by than humans, but pitch blackness is still a problem.

Silverwolf says:

A loose pixie in a cave...I hope they have a can of Raid handy. Loose Pixies can be worse than Cthulhu. What's this scroll? All it says is HASTUR HASTUR HASTUR...

adae says:

ooohhh... probably not trogdor the burninator is right.... they should be thinking of the hobbit....

Azi says:

Are they expecting to find Goblins in the cave, then? Or perhaps a strange creature who likes fish? Wait, they already met the strange creature who likes fish! Way back in the forest, when Leaf was first unconsciuos due to the furies.

Anyways... when exactly did Feiht escape? It must have been between comics, or between frames.

EdorFaus says:

Azi: she escaped in the previous comic - if you look at frame 3 you can see the cage was turned into an apple or similar, and Feiht is on Myhrad's head... At least that's what it looks like to me.

says:

the problem is for elves they can see well in litle light but some like drow have infravision wich means they can switch between the infra-red spectrum and normal sight so that wouldnt be useful in a cold cave caus it would mostly be the same heat other than were they walked

eri-chan says:

0_o have you ever noticed that no matter how far you wander online, there's somebody you recognize on the tagboard/coment thingy? Hi shiny_things! And for all else, this comic rocks. ^_^

someguy says:

Zork was an old series of quirky, humorous computer games. It started way back in the late 70's or early 80's (dunno exactly) with plain text adventure games and finised up with a Myst-style game six or seven years ago.

Empress Catriona of the cat People says:

Can I coat the coot dwagon with shinies and set Feiht on him... *evil grin with fangs*

i_like_shiny_things says:

Hi, Eri-Chan! And Empress, no you may not! Grrr *protectively hugs dragon*

Moonclaw says:

Lion and tiger and bears, also like caves, and now a pixie is lose in a dark cave...(gulp!) Great strip, I can't wait till the next strip!

wuvl says:

were'd feight go? uh oh............

4WindsWanderer says:

In response to someguy's comment: Zork? FINISHED? What is the meaning of such words?! I was just playing it this earlier this week. (today is Feb. 11 2006) Ok, so probably what was meant was that they're not making any more ... but there's enough to last me a lifetime as it is. :)

Bubbles says:

ooooo...nice shadows alien!
a grue is also a botswanan crane

JuneBug says:

LOL
I love how they forget all about the unknown scaries that may lurk in the cave when they find out Feiht has escaped. She's a force to be reckoned with, that one.

Leelit says:

Hah, the Elder Gods!

Cthulhu fhtagn!

hailstorm says:

AHHHHHH PIXIE LOOSE DURING A STORM *passes out*
